Your files, your control

Privacy & how your files are handled

FreePDFtxt is built privacy-first. Most tools process your files on the server and then delete them — your documents are never sold, shared with third parties, or used to train any model.

What happens to a file you upload

  • It is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the server.
  • It is processed in a temporary working folder.
  • The result is returned to you, and the temporary files are removed automatically.
  • Nothing is forwarded to any advertising or analytics third party.

No third-party uploads

Unlike many online PDF services, FreePDFtxt does not hand your documents to an outside company to do the work. The processing happens within this deployment.

Offline & self-hosting for sensitive documents

For maximum privacy you can run FreePDFtxt entirely on your own machine or server. In that setup, files never leave your infrastructure at all. Tools like OCR and Translate can run fully offline with the right local packages installed — ideal for legal, financial, medical or government documents where data residency matters.

What we don't do

  • We don't require an account or signup to use the tools.
  • We don't add watermarks to your files.
  • We don't keep copies of your documents after processing.
  • We don't use your files to train AI models.

Your responsibility

Always keep your own backup of important documents, and when sharing sensitive files use the Redact PDF tool to permanently remove confidential information before sending.

This page describes the intended default behaviour of a standard FreePDFtxt deployment. If you are using a third-party host, check their specific policy.
